Ellon
Mini rugby section is all about young children learning to play a team sport.
We have have various age groups from which they can enter, all will start in the Micros, but they will not play competitive rugby until they reach the P4 group about 7 years old
The sport is built on progression rugby where they are taught to play only certain aspects of the game at each stage, this enables them to learn to communicate and build confidence within themselves

something about the teams and their coaches plus how they are progressing with
their matches
From the 2001-2002 season the mini section will also look after the S1 and S2
these are the 11 to 13 years olds, this group play virtually all the full rugby
rules as laid down by the SRFU, they have been fully prepared for these matches
by coming through the previous mini section.

Ellon’s Mini Section has over
the last few years gained itself a reputation for progressing rugby not only in
Ellon, but also throughout the North East of Scotland. We have now expanded the
section to include the secondary S1 and S2 age groups.
The section has therefore been re-named the ‘Junior Section’.
